NDOT rest-area closure note (checked 2 Oct 2026): NDOT’s Cozad–Darr I-80 project documents (C.N. 61670) state the Cozad eastbound and westbound rest areas (between Cozad and Lexington, not listed as cards on this page) are temporarily closed during mainline I-80 construction (NDOT Cozad–Darr fact sheet (PDF)). NDOT’s Construction & Detour Report dated 23 Sep 2026 still lists head-to-head traffic from Cozad to Darr (NDOT Construction & Detour Report (PDF)). That report does not carry rest-area status, so plan on the Cozad rest areas being unavailable and confirm on Nebraska 511.
