Monthly yard vs overnight truck parking costs

A planning comparison for drivers and dispatchers: when a night-by-night reserved spot makes sense, and when a monthly yard is cheaper. Every dollar below comes from an operator or published page we opened. Rates change. Taxes and fees may be extra. Call ahead or book in the operator’s system before you count on a space.

Guide last checked 1 Sep 2026. Not a live lot board. Not a reservation system.

Dollar examples are anchored on Dallas yards and reserved lots that Lot List already lists on Dallas, TX. Cross-check city pages for context: Atlanta, Houston (washes, not parking rates), and I-80 Nebraska.

Simple math (cited numbers only)

Assumption A: 20 nights in one month of paid overnight or daily parking, compared with one month at a posted monthly yard rate. Taxes, fees, showers purchased separately, and multi-space fleet deals are ignored. This is illustrative math, not a quote.

20 nights vs monthly — Dallas published rates

SafeStop day rate
20 × $19.95 = $399.00
Dallas Truck Parking day rate
20 × $30 = $600
Dallas Truck Parking month
$185 (tractor-trailer)
Realize Bluebird day rate
20 × $20 = $400
Realize Bluebird month
$100 (booking-site posted)
Outpost combo month
$200 (no day rate used in this table)

Under Assumption A, the posted Dallas Truck Parking monthly ($185) undercuts 20 SafeStop days ($399) and 20 Cleveland Rd days ($600). Realize’s posted $100 month undercuts 20 Realize days ($400). If you only need a handful of nights, daily or reserved overnight can still be cheaper than opening a month.

Assumption B: One calendar week (7 nights) at posted weekly vs stacking daily rates at the same yard.

7 nights — weekly vs daily at the same yard

Dallas Truck Parking
7 × $30 = $210 daily stack · posted week $100
Realize Bluebird
7 × $20 = $140 daily stack · posted week $90

Where a yard posts both, the weekly plan is cheaper than seven daily charges at these published numbers. Confirm the plan you actually book.

Chain reserved parking (Pilot, Love’s, TA)

Major travel centers often sell reserved overnight products (examples: TA Reserve-It, Pilot/Flying J reserved programs, Love’s reserved parking). On this check we did not find a single public page that states one fixed national overnight price for Pilot or Love’s reserved parking. TA’s gated-parking page posts a $25 parking fee for standard gated locations (including Dallas South) when you do not meet a fuel, purchase, or Reserve-It validation — that is not the same as publishing every Reserve-It overnight quote.

For chain reserved rates: treat the price as unknown / varies by location and demand. Check the operator app, website, or fuel desk. Do not invent a number.

Industry context (not a price)

Parking scarcity is a documented industry issue. ATRI’s April 2025 research on expanding truck parking at public rest areas states it is estimated there is just one truck parking space nationally for every 11 truck drivers. That is capacity context, not a rate card.
